You can make a difference!

“Restoring hope through motion… one joint at a time”

Operation Walk Virginia is a private, not-for-profit volunteer medical services organization which provides free surgical treatment for patients in developing countries that have little or no access to life-improving care for arthritis or other debilitating bone and joint conditions.

The spirit of giving...   New News!

Once again Ethan Ohriner and Aaron Lipsey have come to our aid and help raise much needed funds for our upcoming trip to Ecuador.

June 14th, Ethan and Aaron put together a silent auction to benefit Operation Walk Virginia.  The event was a huge success and helped raise over $5,000.  This money, together with the gifts of our friends and sponsors will go far to help make our mission a reality.  We are over half way to our goal of $100,000, which is what is needed to make one trip possible.  This money pays to transport, house, and feed the 40+ people who volunteer their vacation time to help those in need.  The team consists of surgeons, internists, anesthesiologists, nurses, therapists, and technicians.

Two years ago, Ethan's dad needed a hip replacement. He was in pain all of the time and couldn't walk or go to work. He is now pain free and back to work but only because he had the resources, as well as the access to medical care, for a hip replacement.

Many people in the world are not that lucky - they don't have the money to pay for the surgery, or a hospital or doctor to perform the surgery. That's why Ethan and Aaron are raising money for Operation Walk.

Changing lives...

Operation Walk Virginia also educates in-country orthopedic surgeons, nurses, physical therapists and other healthcare professionals on the most advanced treatments and surgical techniques for diseases of the hip and knee joints. This is done in conjunction with surgeries to help create a lasting contribution to patient care in developing countries.
